Hello everyone, and welcome to the story of our amazing 2-year-old Evrett, affectionately called “Evy Bug”….or just “Evy”…or just “Bug”, you get the gist 😉
First things first, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy lives to check out my blog. That means the world to me, you have a 1001 things to do each day and still you took a moment to check this blog out, and I will do my absolute best never to bore you.
Secondly, why would I start a blog about my little dude when there are already a s*** ton of parenting blogs in existence, you may be asking? Well, let me tell you that he is one amazing LITTLE dude with a HUGE story to tell. I love writing, and growth is an essential component of happiness, so I believe that writing this blog will help my process as this journey with Evrett progresses. And maybe, just maybe, some other parent out there feeling like I am will catch hold of this blog and know that he/she is not alone in that frightening, confusing & overwhelming world.
Evrett has an extremely rare brain condition. But whether you are a parent of a neurotypical child, or a child with other unique needs, or not a parent at all, etc., I hope that you find some value in the journey I am going to share with you. This won’t be solely about Evy. This will also be about how I have had to grow and adapt as a mother, and as a human being. It will be about how our family dynamic is slowly, and sometimes painfully, adapting to this still fairly new reality. How my husband processes much differently than I do. About how amidst the scariest year and some of my entire life of 32 years, I am pledging to find & foster pockets of happiness in everyday life (no matter how stressful every day life gets to be!). And probably some funny stories along the way as well; because with an English Springer Spaniel, a black cat, a precocious 6-year-old, Evy in the middle at almost 3 years of age, AND our baby daughter, life is anything but boring around here, and there are almost always hilarious tidbits of everyday life to share!
Please check out my 2nd post, where I will share the story of Evy up to this point in time.
Cheers
Wonderful, heartfelt words. He is indeed one amazing and special guy who’s wrapped himself around my heart!

What a great way to deal with the challenges (and joys) life has sent your way. Writing is not only therapeutic but also helps articulate exactly how you are feeling. I look forward to reading more and wish you and your family peace and happiness.
